Hello fellow listers, I am searching for a Arthur Edward Llewelyn, who came to Canada with his mother and sister in the yr of 1905. They went to Toronto and from there am not able to find him anywhere. He was born in Edmonton, Middlesex, England in 1899. On the 1911 census it shows him, but as a Stewart. I believe that when the census taker came around Richard Stewart must have been the only one home at that time and when he said his name and Ada his wife the census taker must have just assumed Arthur was a Stewart also, he put him down as son but if he had looked at the Stewart's ages he would have known he was not their son. Would like to know if anyone in Toronto, or Ontario it's self is looking for this family, I would love to know who Arthur Llewelyn got married to or where he went after he was old enough to leave home. If you know of him or if he is in your family please get in touch, would love to share info on his mom and sisters and brothers, also pics would be the best. Sharon

OntarioGenWeb's Census Project has passed the 1,000,000 mark!! Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers over the past (almost) nine years who have contributed to the project by transcribing, proofreading, inputting or copying census records. The Census Project now allows you to search over 1,040,000 Ontario residents enumerated in census records spanning from the 1790's to 1911. All for free! Visit the project at: http://ontariocensus.rootsweb.com Volunteers have been working hard the past year to transcribe the entire 1851/52 Canada West (Ontario) census. 73% of 1851/52 has been volunteered for and we need YOUR help to reach our 100% goal. It's simple - sign up to transcribe an 1851/52 census by December 31st. If 100% is volunteered for by midnight on December 31st we'll have reached our goal. There's no time limit to transcribe - days, weeks, months - we value accuracy over speed. So you can sign up now and start in the new year :> Our poll "What census year do you think should be our goal in 2008?" showed that the majority of voters want 1861 to be our 2008 goal. As this census year is currently only available on microfilm we're going to need the assistance of those who have access to Ontario census microfilm. If you have access to the 1861 Ontario census but don't wish to transcribe or proofread PLEASE consider being a copier volunteer. Copiers simply pick a census and copy the images to paper or CD* for someone else to transcribe. *For those lucky enough to have a digital microfilm reader at their local facility you can save microfilm images easily (and cheaply) to CD. If you do have this kind of a reader available in your area please let me know, I've been compiling a list in order to help interested volunteers find one close to where they live. Information about volunteering as a transcriber, copier, proofreader or inputter can be found on our website: http://ontariocensus.rootsweb.com/volunteer.html
