Thanks to Doreen and Stella. That is where I picked up the following information: Part 1. PHOTOGRAPHS page 6. HANKIN Lily, now Mrs Edward Munroe, w/ little son. I'm interested in how to get this picture of Lily HANKIN (MUNRO). There seems to be no information as to where this information is to be found since Mr. Rolfe has passed away. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tweetybirdgenealogy/upsdowns.html

Found some of my own answer. For some reason today's search brought the Spooners to Collingwood in 1911. It appears that "Charley" and Robert Spooner and family and William Tackaberry are in Collingwood not Thornbury. A night's sleep must have helped my vision! It appears that Charley and Mary had at least 5 children, Evan, Charles, Robert, Reginald, Margaret between 1902 and 1911. Robert and "Elizabeth" have one child listed in obits in 1918. Still, does this Spooner and Tackaberry family ring a bell with anyone? Bonnie in CA
I have found that two sisters apparently married two brothers. Mary Dorothy Tackaberry married Charles William Spooner and Barbara Elizabeth Tackaberry married Robert John Spooner. The Tackaberry family lives in Thornbury. The Tackaberry sisters have two brothers, James E. and Norman. By a process of guessing I think that James E. is my grandfather. BUT I can't find the Tackaberry family, William m. Maggie or Sarah Dutcher, after 1901. Is anyone connected to this family? Any help is appreciated. Bonnie in California

Hi Margaret: Very kind of you to offer to do look-ups. I am looking for any Dunbar or Helferty/Hilferty names that might be in the Remittance books. Thank you, Clare Stoppa, [email protected]
I am trying to find out the parents' names of Edna Marion Griffith who married a Dr. George Edwin Beattie (b. 1905) in Chatham, Ont. on Apr. of 1947. I think they had one son. I am assuming Edna was b. abt 1912 - 1920 as I cannot find her in the 1911 census. At one time Edna was employed at Burton's book store in Chatham. Her grandmother 'might' have been Mary (Gray) Griffith w/o Robert Griffith. My mother once said that Edna was related to me through the Gray family but as yet have not been able to sort this out. Thanks for any help or leads. -- Bob === Robert Neil Chatham-Kent, ON [email protected]
Here's their marriage notice(s): c6 Married - George Edwin Scram Beattie, son of Edwin Thomas Beattie of Highgate to Edna Marion Georgina Griffith, daughter of Edward James Griffith of Chatham c3 Married - George Edwin Schram Beattie, son of Edwin Thomas Beattie to Edna Marion Georgina Griffith, daughter of Edward James Griffith, Apr 16 They are listed twice. And you now have her father's name. http://www.elginogs.ca/newsindexes/timesjournal/sttj1947aprthrujune.htm There's also a notice, 2 years earlier, of the death of Mrs Edward Griffith. No other name mentioned.
