    3. The Annual Report of the Postmaster General includes a List of Post Offices Established in Canada during the year ending 31 March 1854. Included in this list is ARGYLE post office in REACH township and John Mills is listed as postmaster. I assume the office was short lived as it does not appear the following year. The Argyle post office in Eldon township was established in August 1857. Question. Does anyone know of this John Mills in Reach township (1853) and where he might have lived and indeed if a post office was ever set up. Ross W. This site is not "Sponsored" and therefore does not depend on outside support to exist. However, donations by visitors does help with gasoline to reach unphotographed cemeteries. * 4. Cemeteries online have spousal duplicated photographs. This means a photo of a stone which also has the spouse's maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one searches using the onboard search engine, for a surname, the spouse's surname will be reported as a separate "search result". * 2. If your "search engine" keyword is the same as a city, town, village, township then please read the valuable tips below: * A. *CONCERN:* If your "search engine" keyword you are using is say: pembrok* then your search will pick up all the pembroke surnames....*BUT* ...it will also pick up all the website pages where pembroke is used as a meta name. * B. *SOLUTION:* Change your keyword to pembrok1 and the search engine will only pick up the gravemarkers with the pembroke surname. * 3. If you don't see a Community and its' cemeteries online...it means a volunteer has not photographed and sent me the cemetery photographs. Can you or some of your family and friends help out by photographing the missing cemeteries....? * * ********************************************* Bye for now.......Murray * Cdn Gravemarker Gallery - http://gravemarkers.ca * Email: [email protected] * Alt Email: [email protected] *

    2. sharon macvicar
    3. Hello List I would like to thank those of you who have helped me. Unfortunately he is not the one I am looking for. The one I am looking for was born in Edmonton, Middlesex, England in 1899. His father was William Edward Llewellyn His mother was Annie Rolfe (nee Wingfield) They came to Toronto in 1905-6 and have him on 1911 census with his mother. After that I lost sight of him until 1943 when he stood for one of my fathers brothers at his wedding. At that time he (Arthur) lived in Malton, Ontario, Canada. If you come across a Arthur Llewellyn with some of this info I would love to hear from you. He has been so hard to get info on and he is just about the last I need to find. Your help is so greatfully appreciated and to those who have helped so far a great big THANKS. Sharon

    2. Joanna Waugh
    3. Hello Sharon, If this is your right Arthur, you can find a mention of him in the Essex Free press in 1920 . It just mentions he was living in Cleveland Ohio. The paper can be found at http://knowledge.library.utoronto.ca/newspapers/ Then if you look at the 1930 census it gives Arthur's birth location as England about 1892, immigration date 1909 to US . He is also in Cleveland in 1920 with an immigration date of 1915. His WWI draft registration gives his middle name as Turnick , birthdate Mar 8 1892, and birth location as Cheswick England. Tait, age 72, living on Colbourne Street in Orillia who was born in Scotland, arrived in Canada in 1848. His wife Aurilla was born in Ontario, age 69 and they had living with them a daughter age 32 called Orma H. The family were of the Methodist religion. The ones I looked at today have the mothers of the brides & grooms OK now but the year of marriage is incorrect. I had one for 1907 which was indexed as 1917 and another for 1909 indexed as 1907. The year in each case is very clear on the original. Others that occurred in other years appear to be OK, at least, the ones that I've looked at so far. The two that I refer to: Ontario, Canada Marriages, 1801-1926 Name: Vera M Massey Age: 20 Estimated birth year: abt 1887 ----Incorrect year of marriage makes this estimate also incorrect Father Name: Chas J Massey Mother Name: Bertha Reddick Massey Spouse Name: Philip E Bonesteel Spouse's Age: 20 Spouse Father Name: Norval Bonesteel Spouse Mother Name: Arminta Harder Marriage Date: 8 Sep 1907 ------------------This one is very clearly 1909 on the original Marriage Location: Hastings Marriage County: Hastings Archives of Ontario Microfilm: MS932_141 And this one: Ontario, Canada Marriages, 1801-1926 about Oscar Frederick Laver Name: Oscar Frederick Laver Birth Place: Norham In Percy Township Age: 29 Estimated birth year: abt 1878 -----making this est birth year incorrect by 10 years Father Name: Fredrick John Laver Mother Name: Clara Ellen Evans Laver Spouse Name: Clara Gertrude Lane Spouse's Age: 26 Spouse Birth Place: Sidney Spouse Father Name: Sylvester E Lane Spouse Mother Name: Sarah Massey Lane Marriage Date: 4 Jul 1907 ------------Clearly 1917 on the original Marriage Location: Hastings Marriage County: Hastings Archives of Ontario Microfilm: MS932_419 Marg in Sunny Alberta
