    3. Hi Harold, It was about a year ago when someone told me one trick. But, I don't remember whether it was for Google / Books or HeritageQuest / Books. For a long time I wanted to know how to print out just one page. The helpful person said I needed to go to the top of the page and click on "Plain Text." Then "copy" that page and "send" it to a Word document, etc. Then you can print it out. I find it easier for me to "send" it to an e-mail to myself. Once I "receive" it, I can print it out from there. Don't forget, if you have a CD-Writer on your computer, you can "copy" the whole book onto a CD. But, that's something I have not yet perfected. They are found under the "Immigration and Emigration" category.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Harold Christensen" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, April 03, 2010 4:29 PM Subject: Re: [ONTARIO] Book: The Light of Other Days > Good idea . . . thanks for suggesting it. 3. Thanks, Anne, for taking the time to look through the book. If you have a scanner and could e-mail me the picture, that would be great. But if not, no problem. I wanted to get the book via an inter-library loan but no library in the U.S. seems to have it and my local librarian said she couldn't get it from Canada due to the cost. Such is life. Charles was the son of Anne and Peter. Thanks, again, for your time and effort. Have a great day. 3. In the census, have you tried Marg't, Margret, and even Mary A instead of Margaret? It was a name enumerators had trouble spelling and transcribers had trouble reading. Grey County (and Huron next door to the west) was settled by a lot of second generation Canadians whose parents were still living on family farms further south and east. 1. Re: [ONTARIO] McQuarrie-Wells
    2. I can't open the 1920 US census to see what all the info is. I have seen the spelling of Cyrus as Syrus also and then in some cases he went by Jim. I will keep looking as Margaret seems elusive. I will work on some of the default searches, too. If anyone has ancestry.com maybe you could try to track this family in the US for me. That would be the most reasonable reason she would not be with them.

    1. [ONTARIO] McQuarrie-Wells
    2. I have found what might be a family connection and can't seem to track it at all. Someone has posted a tree showing a Cyrus "Jim" Wells to Margaret McQuarrie. There are more than several Margarets so I just don't know. I do know that a Margaret was born in 1863 to Charles Harvey and Mary (McInnis) McQuarrie in Feversham/Grey Cty. in 1863. There is a single Margaret later in the area on the 1881 census and then nothing. At some later date Jim is with his three children in Michigan. Jim might have been from over in Lenox and Addington Cty which is not close to Grey or Simcoe counties. I have tried searching Margarets on ancestry.ca but can get the US stuff. Any thoughts?????
