Steve, you should read up on the Berczy Settlers, maybe you have? I too have family from that era. Berczy took a Census The page I have is for my family , Wunsch(Wonch) so I don't have the full Census of 1803 but it sounds like the same time frame and they maybe possible listed on it. My copy, page of the 1803 C does list your Frederick Henrick age 47 . Wife is listed as Mary Louisa 40 , son Christian and daughters Polly and Louisa ages cut off. Hope this helps you Cheryle -------------------------------------------------- From: "Steve Marshall" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2010 8:36 AM To: <[email protected]> Subject: [ONTARIO] Joseph Van Sise - Markham to Elgin Co. > Is anyone researching the family of Joseph VAN SICE/SISE?? Good Morning Maggie: I went through the 1911 Canada Census for the surname Deverell and found one with the occupation of butcher. Go to www.automatedgenealogy.com select 1911 Census and in Hamilton, Ontario on page 15 you will find an entry for Robert Deverell and his wife Catherine. Robert's occupation is given as a butcher which you can read on the "split view". You could write to the central library in Hamilton, Ontario for more information re the Young street address as, according to a Google search, there is a 'Young' street in Hamilton. Cheers! Still struggling to get a message to you, all seem to come back I have sent the message it this weekend to about a dozen mailing lists, just sent email to load of genealogy societies in Canada to see if they ask their members if they have any child migrant links. Thank you to Joanna, Donald and Bill who have offered suggestions regarding Walter Hector Seymour MCDONALD who joined the Kilties band in 1909 and toured with them for several years. I have viewed the Hastings County Historical Society website and made enquiries there regarding the album mentioned. Does anyone know whether the band is still in existence today? Googling has not revealed much more information. I have searched the Australian newspapers of the day and got some snippets of info about touring there both before and after their trip to NZ (1908-1909). The information regarding my grandfather's marriage in 1913 to my grandmother states he was a widow. Would some kind soul be able to search for a possible marriage between 1909 and 1913 in Canada. If my grandfather is listed as having been in the British army on his WW1 draft card, could that refer to service while in the band under 'Canada' as a member of the Commonwealth? The marriage registration says he was a 2nd officer on a convict ship. We have a photo of him in a uniform aboard a ship and written on the back it mentions a convict ship. Were there still convict ships at this time (1913) or would it have been an ex-convict ship in general use? Sorry, so many questions and as he was a 'traveller', so many places to consider. Thanks for the help so far, Kind regards Janice

Bill - you can view this yourself at www.automatedgenealogy.com Select Prince Edward county, then select the letter "L". The only entry under "L" which was close is that of: Albert LIMBEER, age 26 However there is a notation attached indicating that this name is incorrect and should be "Lineker". Hello Bill, If you go to: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/Test4.jsp you can find Albert Limbeer in Hallowell, Prince Edward County. NOTE: The original hand-written census image was originally transcribed as Limbeer but [email protected] added the following note for Albert: Albert Lineker, not Limbeer, was my great uncle. He was born in England in 1885 and died at Vimy in 1917. The census transcription says he was born in May 1875 but unfortunately, the image of the actual hand-written census page is not available at the present moment, so I cannot see where he claimed to have been born or comment upon the note. Good luck with your search, Gerry
