Hi Bonnie With the help of this wonderful List the search was a success, haven't gotten details on Mother Edith's death yet but now have a place to start. There is also a son buried somewhere and very likely near Mother somewhere, that is another search for another day. As for the Baby/neighbour buried together, that is a sweet story Bonnie hope it is recorded somewhere for others to find. Ellen: Tell us all, how you accomplished this. We were all rooting for you. Did they both die at the same time? I guess not. I was copying a small cemetery near where I live and found a young woman (I forget her age)had died and at the same time, someone in the neighborhood had lost a baby. Perhaps to save money and for other reasons, the infant's parents asked the family of the young woman if they could bury their baby with her and instead of being placed at her feet like some have done, she was placed in her arms. Isn't that a sweet story? Hi: The death reg just says McClure Twp., Maynooth, no actual cemetery name. She died Jan 16, 1918. Perhaps she was buried on the family farm? There likely wouldn't have been an obit as we know it these days. If anything, just a one liner, Died, Infant dau of Wm Hoare, Jan 16. Was there a newspaper in Maynooth? What was the larger community near it where there might have been a newspaper? The Nat'l Archives Newspapers on Microform, click Ontario: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/8/18/r18-208-e.html Search Hoare here: http://www.angelfire.com/wa3/greenwoodontario/HastingsCountyCemeteries.html Scroll down to McClure twp here for a few cemeteries: http://www.gravemarkers.ca/ontario/centont/hastings/index.htm Marg in Sunny Alberta
The death registration shows that this child died on January 16, 1918, Township of Wicklow with burial in Township of McClure in Hastings County. Just wanted to clarify the date as a newspaper announcement would show up after January 16th, not January 6th. Cheers!
