My ggggrandfather was James O'NEILL, b. abt 1806; married to Mary HARVEY, b. abt 1809. They emigrated from Ireland, probably Londonderry, between 1833 and 1837. Two children were born in Ireland: my gggrandmother Sarah Anna O'NEILL, b. ca. 1831; brother John O'NEILL, b. ca. 1833. The rest of the children were born and baptized in Boston: Ellen O'NEILL, b. Aug. 22, 1837 Catherine O'NEILL b. Apr 5, 1840 Emily O'NEILL b. Mar 22, 1842 James O'NEILL b. Mar 4, 1845 Bernard O'NEILL, b. Sept 27, 1847 Mary O'NEILL, b. abt 1851 Sarah Anna O'NEILL, my gggrandmother, married James Jay JONES of New York; they came to San Francisco, then Astoria, Oregon where they died in the 1880s. Emily became Sr. Mary Emma Borgia, Presentation Convent, San Francisco. I would be happy to learn more about the ancestors, where exactly they came from, and the descendants, who I believe stayed in the Boston area except for Sarah and Emily. Thanks for any help.
