Dear Dan: I was very interested in your post on the o'neill newsgroup. I'm sending along my o'neill info (i hope its legible) that hits a dead end with our eugene o'neill. what's a little odd is that my o'neill ancestors were either in new york city or in new london, connecticut (my hometown and the playwright's hometown as well). our families knew each other (my grandmother helen o'neill condon had a very low opinion of eugene o'neill---as she was a teetotaller and he of course was not. She used to call him "the wreck of the has-beens," a deviation of "wreck of the hesperus") and my late father was a friend of Eugene's drinking buddy Art McGinley, the late sportwriter for The Day newspaper of New London. as you'll see, there is a lot of missing information on our o'neill tree. any information you can add would be very greatly appreciated. best regards, james o'neill condon wkdr@together.net the o'neill family ---patrick & mary lehan margaret & pat sullivan marguerite (ritie) & ___ ficara frances robert celia & ____ eldridge robert katherine (kate) thomas & may lawlor helen (nell) & thomas condon thomas (b. 1922) & carolyn macdonald (b. 1922) tom and anne mcgrath clare jack pat deirdre and john wyeth may garret (b. 1954) and daria caruso carolyn brian (b. 1/1/56) james (b. 1958) and ginny mcgehee thomas laird (b. 9/6/96) david (b. 12/31/63) dan & helena leahy agnes & hugh smith bill pat & don logan michael and norma susan and michael steven and jean donald and martha ---daniel and ann murphy (sister of dennis murphy) john james gertrude and john enos jackie alice and _____ kelly eugene and mary _____---maria (b. 1870) and dennis murphy (brother of ann murphy) mary (b. 1888) and fred deroche ann (b. 1889; d. 1910) kit (b. 1892) and eddie dolan mary (b. 1927) and bertil olson bertil mark jamie neil alice (b. 1893) and harry gordon margaret (b. 1896; d. 1985) and john mckenna margaret and william king william margaret patricia debbie mary deirdre robert eileen jack and mary lou _____ luanne john jim kevin danny eileen and bud kivlen eileen and kevin mccourt kevin mary john elizabeth maureen kathryn jim (b. 1898) and pat _______ fr. john (b. 1899) frances (b. 1902; died infant) loretta (b. 1905) cecilia (b. 1907) roland (b. 1909) dan (b. 1910) and kay driscoll kathleen (b. 1941) and _____ vernegger kathan susan molly fr. dan (b. 1944) ---michael ---john (buried in india; married an o'mara) ----- Original Message ----- From: <Jpintard@aol.com> To: <ONEALL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 02, 1999 5:54 AM Subject: [ONEALL-L] Re: O'Neills of Leinster > I am looking for O'Neills from Leinster, particularly those from the > Rathvilly - Clonegal areas.
