    1. [ONEALL-L] Over the Misty Blue Hills
    2. When I first discovered Rev. War Soldier Darius O'Neal, I got the book, "Over the Misty Blue Hills," through interlibrary loan and copied the pages mentioning O'Neals. The author was certainly fuzzy about her data, "These records are in the Accounts of the Comptrollers office, War of the Rebellion, in State Library of Raleigh, NC, Volume A, Book D, 1778-1783." Their names were Henry, Patrick, Patrick, Jr., Peter and Captain Peter O'Neil. This is certainly not clear especially when she names "two who came to Cocke County before 1816." She named families of two men, but did not give the name of the father of either family. I've tried comparing the five she named with the Revolutionary War Pension Files (by Virgil White's book) and can find three Henrys from PA and NJ; two Patricks , one from Edgecombe Co NC and one with ties to Mecklenburg and Burke County NC. Bottom line: does anyone live in NC near Raleigh where they could check Odell's information. I've never been to Raleigh but I imagine things have been shuffled around a bit since Odell wrote her book. Dorann in KY
