In response to the siblings of William Allen O'Neal mentioned in recent message, I just found a reference to a couple of them in a book called "The Early Residents of Natchez District" as follows: Natchez District 1816 (from the Mississippi Archives): O'NEAL, Abner Amite County Harvey __________ Hiram { Jonathan { All in Franklin County Jonathan, Jr { Michell { Tim {__________________ I am very interested in this family because my husband's great great grandmother, LOVINA O'NEAL, married Rodwell SMITH in Copiah County, MS 7 Aug 1829. Her father who signed for her was either Michael or Mitchell. She was born c1812. On one census it says AL and on another MS. She also says that her father was b. in NC. She and Rodwell later moved to Yalobusha Co. MS. I have not found any evidence of any of her O'Neal kin living nearby at that time (unless it was sisters). She did name one son Hiram. Her children's names included: Joshua Jackson, Jacob O. (which I believe stands for O'Neal), Stephen J., Peter M., James W., William C., Mary Jane, L. C. (I think this is Lucinda), Hiram M., Calvin L., Robert A, and Mary E.
