Coughlin, a former French : and Latin teacher, died at Richmond, IN, 10:30 Thursday morning, of : pneumonia. She was born July 28, 1907 at Clay City, IN to Dr. Raymond : A. and Nelle (Slinkard) English. She attended Oxford College for Women, : and Indiana University. She began her teaching career in Carlisle, : continued in Russiaville, marrying a widower from Liberty, she continued : to teach at College Corner, and other schools in Union County. For many : years she was active in her community, serving on the library board, and : as a volunteer for the red cross. She belonged to the : --------------------, and was counted with the Presbyterian Church. : She is survived by one Aunt, Mildred (Slinkard) Fulmer, Wilson, of : Seymour, IN and one sister, Rosalind, (Mrs. Carl M. Porter) of : Jasonville, two nieces, Diana Busche, of -?Marion?- and Mary Jo Brown of : Terre Haute, IN, and one nephew, Carl English Porter, of Jerseyville, : IL, there are four grand nieces, and two grand nephews.
