    3. I found the following information in the book THE O'NEAL FAMILY HISTORY written by Margaret Joplin Farham and Mary O'Neal McCammon. This book deals primarily with the O'Neals who settled in Independence Co, AR. Abijah and John O'Neal were brothers who came to Arkansas from Logan County, Kentucky. John b. 1799 married Nancy Harbour in Christian Co, KY in 1820 according to the marriage cd. Other info has 1818. Abijah was born abt 1797 and probably married in Arkansas. According to this book, his first two wives have not been identified, but the first one was probably a Taylor, the second one was Elizabeth _________, and the third one was Martha A. Johnson. Do any of you have information on this James of Gloucester or his son Adam? This book also contains some general information on O'Neals and records of land transactions, marriages, and tax books from KY (Logan, Christian, and Warren) along with land claims from different states. The following reference to the Arkansas branch of O'Neals is found in "Pioneers and Makers of Arkansas", (Shinn) pp. 271 and 274: "There is quiet an army of Lindsays, descending from the Earl of Lindsay, now living in Arkansas, who descended in another way. They carry the blood and are of a remote kind, but of the clan. These are Colonel Lindsey, the Tripletts, the Embrees, the O'Neals. All these, however, are later additions to the Arkansas trunk, coming in fully thirty years after the advent of the Gloucester, Carolina, Albermarle, and Rockbridge lines. The O'Neals of Arkansas descend from James of Gloucester, through Adam, his third son." Thanks, Eunice McCammon [email protected]
