They had children (all in NC): Betsy Ann O'Neal b. 1848 Rufus O'Neal b. 1850 Candis O'Neal b. 1852 Alvis O'Neal b. October 1853 Ellen O'Neal b. 1856 Emma Lee O'Neal, April 6, 1859 Martha O'Neal, abt. 1861 Molly O'Neal, abt. 1862 Katherine O'Neal, abt. 1866 Thomas O'Neal, abt. 1869 Solomon O'Neal, abt. 1873 Peggy Rudd McAndrew has a theory that William is the son of Zachariah O'Neal (based on her census research), but we have found no evidence yet to prove this.
