Greg, I just saw your comment on Bennet's brother who moved to Texas. Any way I could get some additional data? I'M researching an Elbridge B. O'Neal, born in GA, owned a lumber mill in Bienville Parish, LA, and moved to Texas probably right after the Civil War. He shows up in the 1870 census as "Elridge B. O'Neil(l)" and the 1880 census as Elbridge B. Sometime in the 1880's he moved to Grayson County, Texas. I just can't seem to find anything more than his birthdate - 4/13/1827- in GA. I'd hate to have to go through the whole state of GA in the 1830 census to see if I could find him! Thanks for any help you can send my way.
