Interesting to see the names O'Neall and Calvert used in the two messages below. My grandma was Jane Barbara Calvert O'Neill, born 1891, Mochrum, Scotland, which is in or near Kirkcudbrightshire. Her father's mother was Margaret Calvert, born 1822 Canonbie, died 1899 in New Abbey; Margaret was the child of Thomas Calvert born 1797, Canonbie and Grace Hope (no details) who were married in 1819 in Dumfries. My grandma's entire family came to Canada in the early 1900's, but it is possible they may have had relatives migrating to the US a generation or so earlier.
