The closest I can find to your John O'Neill is this: 6. JOHN O'NEALL (son of Hugh) was born in 1745 in Christiana, Delaware. He married Grace Frost, daughter of John Frost, in Virginia . John Belton O'Neall claims Grace Frost was the sister of Mary, the wife of John's brother William. There is, however, no mention of a Grace Frost in the records of Hopewell Monthly Meeting, of which both Mary Frost and her probable father, John, were members. He died in 1781 in Union District, South Carolina, killed in a skirmish with Col. Roebuck. He moved with his parents, Hugh O'Neall and Anne Cox, circa 1750 to "the Susquehanna." He moved with his mother, Anne Cox, after Hugh's death to Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. The name of John O'Neal [sic] appears on land transactions in the Mudlick Creek area of (old) Berkeley County. Surveys and memorials dated 13 Feb. 1768 and 2 Aug. 1768 were signed "for the memorialist" on 12 Dec. 1768 by Jno. Caldwell and on 21 Mar. 1775 by William O'Neal. He moved in 1776 to South Carolina. He entered military service in the British Army, in which he attained the rank of Captain. GRACE FROST married (--?--) Crosby. Known children of John O'Neall and Grace Frost were as follows: i. SARAH. ii. REBECCA. This gentleman shares certain characteristics with your John O'Neill, but not enough. For instance, he died too early and his wife has the wrong name. For more, go to http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~joneall/standard/famjrn2/famfrmsb.htm The John O'Neall mentioned is the 6th child of Hugh O'Neill. I also would be interested in any more info you may find on this gentleman or your John. May I ask what your source is for the info you sent?
