Hi Michael, I saw your note on Bartlett O'Neal,whose son was Simon married to Matilda, I dont have anything on Bartlett but I have a Simon born 1802 who married Matilda born 1800 ,the only thing is I have his father as Edmond O'Neal born 1760 married to Elizabeth Roberts.Could Bartlett be his middle name?I think we may have a connection , it seems so close , my gr grandfathers name was William Bartlett or Bartley O'Neal ,I have heard both names.I have some info if you want to compare notes. Greg You might want to look at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=ken_227 I have my O'Neal genealogy there, search for Joseph O'wneill This is the first O'Neal of our line( not yet proven) found in America 1690s His son spelled his name O'Neale, as did his son John my gggg grandfather. My ggg-grandfather Peter O'Neal dropped the e , and moved to Bedford Co., PA in 1781. Two of Peter's brothers John and Joseph, spelled their name O'Neale and moved to VA.
