    1. [ONEALL-L] Road maps of Scotland
    2. David Palmquist
    3. I'm having fun since I joined these two Rootsweb lists. Hi gang! It's interesting to see where your ancestors came from. I came across this website for UK roadmaps: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ It will display 9 segments each covering 100 square kilometres, if you select the UK Place option. You can expand the segments (enlarge them) or you can reduce them to cover more territory. Good climbing, David Palmquist (Orkney: Hay, Simpson, Gerrick/Garrioch, Sclater) (Kirkcudbrightshire: O'Neill, Calvert, Hartley and McClung)

    1. [ONEALL-L] O'Neill/Carr
    2. Looking for the following family's origin in Irleland: Parents Felix/Francis O'NEILL and Hannah CARR/KERR Children Mary b. May 1860 (or 1866/1867) emigrated to NYC 1887/1888 Felix b. May 1865 (or 1859/1861/1862) emigrated to NYC 1878/1880 Francis b. Feb 1868 (or 1863/1865/1866) emigrated to NYC 1885/1891 Julia b. Feb 1871/1872 or 15 Aug 1870 emigrated to NYC 1886/1888 Ages and years of emigration vary depending on source. Julia married another Irish immigrant, Luke HALPIN in NYC. Her story is tragic. Sister Mary died from a fall on the ice in Feb 1907. Almost one year later to the day, brother Felix, a grave digger at Calvary Cemetery in NYC, took a shortcut home one day, and was hit by a train. Brother Frank took Felix's job and was hit by a train one week later taking the same shortcut home. The following year, husband Luke died as a result of burns suffered in a Standard Oil Company fire. Can anyone help me locate Irish point of origin? Would appreciate any advice/information. Cathy Halpin

    3. Thanks Penny, I am also looking for a Charles O'Neil. Mine was in Sorel,Quebec in approximately 1837 and at least until 1868. I have the names of his children and wife, but know nothing about where he came from. Family rumor says County Tyrone, but I don't know if my Charles was born in Ireland or his father. Working on this. Jacquie Scherr
