    3. This is probably a good idea. I imagine Newberry might be right happy to receive a somewhat large (if not huge) group of folks to celebrate the memory of, among others, one of their historic figures and one of your ancestors (some of you, not me), John Belton O'Neall. john |-----Original Message----- |From: Lafnear, Joseph [mailto:[email protected]] |Sent: Thursday, November 05, 1998 6:45 PM |To: [email protected] |Subject: RE: [ONEALL-L] Family History | | |Jim, |If someone contact the Chamber of Commerce they are always willing to |provide information about what is available in the area. 3. Jim asked if Bert (my father) could come. I'm pretty sure he couldn't travel anywhere, if only because Margaret(my mother) can't. But I'm just as sure he'd love to be there. So may I suggest another site, at one of the busiest airports in the USA: Orlando. Otherwise, I prefer South Carolina or Virginia or Philadephia (another hub, I imagine, plus lots of Quaker sites to visit in the vicinity). Sorry, but Hawaii is just too far away from France. The jet lag would be unbearable. So there's a bit more food for thought. And, speaking of food, yes, Don, I will be getting a steak in Orlando. ;-) Gather you've been in touch lately. Heard you'd sent a load of info. Maybe I'll be talking to you in December. Cheers, all -- John P.S. I can't promise yet to be there, so weight my vote accordingly. |-----Original Message----- |From: Susie Krill [mailto:[email protected]] |Sent: Friday, November 06, 1998 1:44 AM |To: [email protected] |Subject: Re: [ONEALL-L] Family History | | |Can we vote more than once??? |Virginia - first choice |Ohio - second choice | | |At 06:19 PM 11/5/98 EST, you wrote: |>Hawaii - First Choice |>Salt Lake City - Second Choice |> |> |> | |

    3. Gang! Another little tid-bit. I just received a note from Tim O'Neill. Tim is a professional musician, plays the piano beautifully, and his CD's and Tapes are available at most J C Penny Stores. Anyway, I happened to purchase his CD called "the Meeting of the Waters" He recorded it after a several month visit to Ireland. I sent him an e-mail telling him how much I enjoyed the CD. Well you know me, I couldn't just leave it at that I had to tell him a little about our O'Neall line and wondered, since he seemed to deal with County Antrim and County Down on his CD, just what his line was. This is some of what I received back from him: <snip> >I have an uncle Jim O'Neill in Eau Claire, WI that >often e-mails us, and I thought that your note was from him at first. > Yeah, my favorite album is the one that I recorded after being in Ennis, >Co. 3. Thanks Brenda for acknowledging the presence os hunches when seeking info, its happened to me too. My old genealogy master used to have an uncanny knack at locating info in this way, I have seen that book advertised and thought of buying it before, let me know how you like it, okay? Your story of Martha Stewart is a great one! Cyber-serendipity. I have the same feeling about being onto something special~I think its because its still kind of new to me. I recently had 2 tremendous breakthrus on other lines, and the strong feeling of success is just the best~better than anything. I found an overland trail journal of a great great uncle who was joining his brother in California during gold rush, he wrote something in his diary everyday and its fascinating (my Hamrick line). And I broke open my Rhoads line, which was a total deadend, with 6 new generations. Both happened online, one found me from my websites, and the other I found by posting a query for the thousandth time. One thing, when I find something new on my maternal lines I have so many interested cousins now, after my reunion that I have to send out 46 packs of info, this last time I asked for help! 2. How about somewhere near a major airline hub, so that the air fares would be cheaper for all. i.e.: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Denver or Minneapolis. I was a travel agent for several years, so I know that flights in and out of these places are usually cheaper. If we did Salt Lake City (a major hub for Delta Airlines), in addition to it being a "hub", there is also the advantage of that fantastic research library that the LDS church has! Atlanta (another Delta Airlines Hub) has a National Archive Library. The other large cities probably have large genealogy libraries. Just food for thought! (Or perhaps fuel for the fire :-) ) Regards, Linda Peckham Scroggs (aka: [email protected])

    3. Brenda, Not to dampen your enthusiasm for intuition. I depend on mine. And have had some really odd things happen. But when searching on the internet, depending on the search engine and how you keyed in your names, the engine searches for both names. If both the name Martha and the name Stewart are listed anywhere on the page it will be a result of your query. For example the name Martha Brown and the name Jeb Stewart may be on the same page. It is possible for this page to come up in your results on searching for Martha Stewart unless you specify "all the words as a phrase". But it is still very interesting that the county that came up was one you were very familar with. I've probably only confused matters. But was trying to help.
