I know that this is a long shot, but I am going to ask anyway! I am going to visit a member of the CURTIS family in North Dakota in September and would like to learn a little more about his family. His grandfather was William Francis CURTIS, born in Darlington Twp., c 1861 and was the son of John Curtis and Elizabeth. William married Florence Barber, of Courtice, on Nov 6, 1885 and they had two children, Mabel Viola, born c 1886 and William John, born c 1889. Florence died on Jun 22, 1890 at the age of 22 years. William Francis CURTIS married Sarah Janet WITHERIDGE, on Mar 26, 1891, they had two children, George Almon, born in 1893 and Frank Leonard, born in 1896. In Mar 1909, the CURTIS family moved to Sarles, North Dakota, where they died. I have found a marriage of John CURTIS to Eliza DARLEY, on Apr 9, 1860 at Durham County. The marriage certificates that John was the son of Francis Curtis and Ellen. Eliza was the daughter of Joseph Darley and Ann. I then found a marriage in the IGI as follows: Mar 23, 1830 - Francis CURTIS to Eleanor WEBSTER, at Freiston, Lincolnshire, England. The bapt., for John CURTIS, reads: Mar 28, 1831 - John CURTIS, s/o Francis Curtis and Eleanor Webster. Does anyone have any further information on this family?
