Dear List-Cousins, Yesterday I was thrilled to receive several additional generations of ancestry of the HOGARTH (and related) family from yet another HOGARTH descendant (from Georgia, USA). She sent pedigree charts on this family which go as far back as 1648. The main pedigree charts are named after the following families: HOGARTH / HOGGART, WASHINGTON, CHISHOLM, ELFORD and MINNAR / MINEAR/ MENNEER. The above information is especially for those researching the families related to the HOGARTH / HOGGART family of Solina, Darlington Township (Durham). In my opinion, if you are researching any of the Darlington Township families of the 19th century, the odds are high that you are related to the HOGARTH + WASHINGTON families by marriage, in one way or the other *LOL.* For example, the HOGARTH family includes also includes connections to the Durham County families of STACEY, DANIELS, LAW, TURPIN, KERR, FLETCHER and SUTHERLAND, to name only a few. I am in the midst of distributing this information and other detailed HOGARTH+WASHINGTON genealogical material to Bowmanville Museum and Archives, as they are responsible for (and very much interested in) gathering information on Darlington Township families and the local histories in the Durham region. Also, I plan to distribute the same material to the Whitby-Oshawa OGS and their library collection at the Whitby Public Library.
