    3. Although my family of John JOHNSTON & Catherine Isabel HALL continued on to Turnberry Twp, Huron County, eventually - they were in the Cartwright district of Durham County sometime between 1851 when they left Ireland and 1861 when they showed up on the Census in Turnberry Twp. We know this because their eldest son Robert John JOHNSTON joined the "Loyal Orange Lodge No. 276, at Cartwright, County of Durham, District of Cartwright in Ontario on January 3, 1854." And that he received some type of certificate from this same lodge on Dec. 4, 1857, stating he was a member in good standing etc., possibly for the purpose of transferring to another lodge in Huron County? The family is as follows: John JOHNSTON b. approx. 1809 Ireland + Catherine Isabel HALL b. 1813, Enniskillen, County of Fermanagh Their children, all born in Ireland, but no proof that it was Fermanagh 1. Robert John JOHNSTON b. 3 June 1836/37 2. William JOHNSTON b. 1838 3. Isabella JOHNSTON b. 1842 4. Jane JOHNSTON b. 1846 5. Mary JOHNSTON b. 1850 Members of Church of Ireland/ then Church of England. Family immigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1851/1852. Is anyone else connected to this family?? Also is District of Cartwright the Township of Cartwright? Was there a town of Cartwright also. It would be helpful to know where in the District of Cartwright that they were. Thanks for any help. Bonnie Henderson Alberta
