    1. Update: HOGARTH, LAW, ELFORD, STACEY, etc.

    3. Greetings! A follow-up for researchers of the Darlington Township families of HOGARTH, LAW, ELFORD, STACEY (and dozens of other families related by marriage): I just received a very gracious "Thank You" letter from the Bowmanville Museum Board regarding the "Hogarth Papers" recently deposited there. I quote: "The historically significant information you have provided on the Hogarth, Law, Elford, and Stacey families will be safely filed in our Goodyear: Bowmanville Plant Archives. Rest assured that the papers will be taken care of, while at the same time available to interested researchers." These papers include ten generations of the HOGARTH family, including the five generations known to have descended through the pioneering "Widow Hogarth" of Solina. The family seemed to have intermarried into just about every other family in the area throughout the 1800s, especially with families with 19th century ties to Darlington Township. The papers are a genealogical treasure, with several contributors, but most are attributed to the late Claude E.L.H. LAW of Manitoba and are now available at the Bowmanville Museum and Archives. I am also willing and able to do look ups, although only some of the many family groups have been entered on my computer and are therefore not all easily searchable. Cheers, Astrid Terras terras@vianet.on.ca Terras Publishing Inc.
