I took a look in the Surrogate Court Index for Durham/Northumberland counties and found: McMAHON, James of Durham - #262, 1864 McMAHON, John of Hope - #1492, 1880 County Marriage Registers of Ontario - Durham County: John McMAHON, 23 of Hope, born Canada, s/o Michael and Rosa, married Jun 30, 1858 to Eliza Jane Gordon, 20 of Hope, born Canada, d/o John and Mary There are other McMahon marriages in Durham County, but the remainder are females. There is only one death in the Newspaper Index: Vincent Arthur McMAHON, drowned at Rice Lake whilst visiting his uncle, Charles McGuire - Aug 1, 1889 In the 1861 Map Tremaine Atlas I see the following: E. McMahon - Lot 17 & 18, Conc., 4, Hope Township This is about all I can find. Kind regards Kathy Witheridge Sarnia, Ontario, Canada
