I am still researching my husband's mother's (Martha Virtue) side of the family; the Virtues originally came from Enniskillen, N. Ireland, but likely about 1840 emigrated to the Enniskillen area of Darlington Twp. She was a granddaughter of one of the eleven children of Robert Virtue and Philina Morrison, Archibald Virtue (1815 -1891) , who was married to Martha Hillier (1833-1886). I am interested in the other ten children but specifically Archibald's family . Their oldest daughter Elizabeth married John Stainton; the next Philina married Dr. Robert A. Lee ; William married Annie Thompson (and had Lillie, Violet, Charles, Russell, Edna, William, Great, and Grace); Edward m. Flora Smith; Robert (my mother-in-law's father) m. Elizabeth Strong of Bowmanville but that family was to move to the Orillia region and then on to southern Manitoba; John (Jack) 1866-1921 m. Laura Hamley and I believe there was an Albert L. The three daughters of Robert Virtue and Philina Morrison who present the greatest problem as to getting information about are Hannah who m. Charles Floody, Margaret who m. Charles Sherrett and Philina who married Charles Chambers. I have a little more on the other two daughters but not much on Anne Virtue who married Jacob Scott (both born in the 1820's), and Elizabeth who married Johnson (John) Niddery. Perhaps some of these names will ring a bell as far as somebody out there is concerned.
