    3. Hello Judy, Dave and all: The Stateman is on microfilm at the library. There is also an index to surnames on microfiche. Check that first, then go to the film with that date's paper on it. The OGS branch Whitby Oshawa is in the process of indexing and microfilming further editions of the paper. By the way, the paper was sold last year, so don't write to the address below. It is now a sister paper to the "This Week" series of papers (Oshawa, Port Perry, etc - they've bought out all the small newspapers including the Port Hope Evening Guide, Cobourg Star, etc).
