    3. Hi, The hand condition is described in the series of novels by Diana Gibaldon in the last one -A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It is a series that invokes time travel but also about Scots immigrating to the U.S. before the revolution. You may enjoy it. I certainly did! There is one Mr. Oliphant who matches the Oliver men who were DNA tested in the group shaded bright yellow, at at least 35 of 27 markers. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gaoliver/OliverLines.html When I last checked, he matched no other Oliphant though. There is another Oliphant DNA group that matches men in the bright orange shaded Oliver DNA group. Not that the set of Gibaldon novels is completely historically accurate, but as I understand it men of many last names could fight under the banner of a good leader in one clan, or be in his group through marriage.
