Mine was "rumored' to be from Carne VA. Only Carne I can find is a creek. He moved to Pike County MO abt 1830ish and was "killed by a shotgun blast" on 29 June 1858. His wife was going to divorce him. He was a drunk and a gambler. His parents were born (and him too) in VA according to census records. I wish he had a more uncommon name then I could have poss. found him. He did name some of his kids really interesting names such as General Jackson Oliver, George Washington Oliver etc. My mom was the Oliver, born in Missouri and raised there. What do you know about Fred Oliver. Since I can find nothing on Ferdinand, some people have said that he might have been called Fred. He was born in Ohio, and was back and forth between Indiana and Illinois. Have you traced HIS family?
