Alvin's birthday is listed as : 23 Oct. 1805 in Alstead, New Hampshire. He married Julie Ann Merrifield/Merryfield on 11 Jan 1832. She was born in Vermont. According to the 1880 U. S. Census her parents were both born in Mass. Alvin Oliver and Julia Ann had at least 8 children. Susan E. Oliver was b. 29 June 1837 Her married name was Spencer. I think her husband was Francis Wm. Spencer of Wirksworth, Derbyshire, Englnd..In the 1880 Census it says she is a widow. Her daughter Martha E. Spencer is living with Susan and with Susan's parents. Martha was born: 11 July 1861 in Shrewsbury, Rutland, VT. She died: 17 Dec. 1945 in Leicester, Addison, Vermont. In the name Susan E. the E stands for Esther. Sometimes she is listed as Esther Susanna. Martha E. Spencer was married to Joel B. Quelch. He was born: 19 Feb. 1858 in New York. Hope this helps.
