Hi Susan: It looks like you have come upon a real treasure "chest". Do wish I could help. I have been searching for my husband's ancestry for some time but keep hitting brick roads. His great grandfather - John Oliver, b. 1810, came to Canada in 1836 but we can't find where he came from and how he ended up in New Brunswick, Canada. Good Luck with finding a good home for your pictures. Ferne, Do you have any additional information on your John Oliver (i.e. name of wife, children)? My John Oliver was married to Elizabeth Trevethan. They had at least two children, Alice (or Annie) and Elizabeth (Bessie). They lived in Saint John, New Brunswick. The main problem that I have with your info is that I think they came to Canada from England closer to 1860. Please let me know if it sounds like there may be a connection. Thank you.
