Pat Oliver administered the Oliver Y DNA project since 2003, and also provided other genealogical support to GenWeb, etc. I found Pat extremely professional and supportive. His website (http://fly.hiwaay.net/~woliver/Oliver_YDNA.html), with the colored groupings of individuals whose Y haplotype matched, was very helpful. I especially appreciated that he provided additional webpages of genealogical information for people who contributed it, via a hot link to the ancestor's name. I have offered to administer the project, in his absence. There is now a new webpage for the project that contains all the participants tested by FTDNA at: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/oliverDNA/default.aspx?/publicwebsite.aspx There were some additional participants, presumably tested by other companies, who are also shown on Pat's website. Unfortunately I am unable to find or contact those people so far. Some participants have also changed email addresses and so if you are a participant and did not receive an email from me on Monday, Nov. 23 with similar content, or if you are a woman who sponsored an Oliver man in the tests, please email me at [email protected] I do have an Oliver ancestor and have sponsored a cousin in the Bright Yellow Group. Most of my Oliver research was of Oliver families in Georgia in the past few years, but more recently also in Virginia.
