Evelyn Oliver M. Evelyn Oliver M. Evelyn Oliver, age 73, died Sunday morning, July 19, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born October 12, 1935 in Apollo, Pa., daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Reed . and had resided in Erie since 1962. Evelyn had been employed by Hamot Medical Center for 10 years upon her retirement; prior to that she had also been employed by the Avalon Hotel and the former Villa Maria Motherhouse at 9th And Liberty Sts. She was a member of the Salvation Army and had also been active with the church's Home League, Sunbeam and Senior Day Center. Her hobbies included needlepoint, reading and shopping. Evelyn especially enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family; adoring her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, William J. Oliver; an infant daughter, Pearl Marie; one sister, Lillian Straka; and one brother, Howard Reedy. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Blystone and her fiancé Ed Kremer and Karin Williams and her husband Jay all of Erie; five step-children, Jim Oliver (wife Kay), Bill Oliver (wife Linda) Bob Oliver (wife Kathy), Mike Oliver (wife Sue) and Linda Oswalt (husband John); three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., West, 536 West 10th Street on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Friday at 10 a.m. conducted by Maj.
