Their ancestors are from Caroline Co, VA but they include Oliver families in Amelia County, Nottoway Co, Hanover Co, VA. The latest match descends from John Clemence Oliver, b. 1806 VA and died 1850 in Livingston Co, MO. He married Mary Jane Pulliam on 5 Dec 1827, in Prince Edward Co, VA. before moving to Brunswick Co, VA by the 1840 census. A Margaret Oliver married John J Pulliam on 14 Nov 1837 in Brunswick and appear on the 1840 census there. This seems coincidental, so I suspect that they may be related - siblings perhaps? A John Oliver married Sally Bradshaw on 2 Nov 1801 in Prince Edward Co, VA. Her parents were John Bradshaw and Margaret Clemments according to various postings on RootsWeb. I suspect that they may be the parents of John Clemence Oliver, and his middle name is derived from the surname of his maternal grandmother. I'm tracing the family back to origins. I have the parents of Luther. Herman was born in 1866 and married a Cora. Their children were: Mary, Azura (?) Stanley and Franklin. Stanley was born 1904 and married Elizabeth. I have one child for them: L Mae Oliver. William married Della and Emma. I have no children for either marriage. Charles married Jennie. Their children were: Emma, Charles and Mary. Emma married Claude Reed in 1920. Their children were: Gerald and Claudia. Claudia marrien Kendall Worden in 1944. Kendall died in Wellsville, 2000.
