    1. [OLDHAM] Re: Who was the father of David Daniel Oldham(Mother was Obedience Shreve)born in Indiana in late 1850 or early 1860's
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Godsey,Lawrence,Godsey,Oldham,Shreve Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Vm3.2ACEB/392.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Yes, you have the right father. I believe he was killed in the Civil War. John Oldham was born in Grayson Co.,Ky according to the marriage certificate for David Daniel and Nancy Duncan. I have been thrown off by people referring to him as Curt, instead of John. The Shreve that he married was Obedience Shreve, the daughter of Clement Shreve and Frances Godsey. Obedience is buried in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Breckinridge Co, Ky along with Willis Jasper Lawrence, her second husband. She was born around 1835 in Rockingham Co.,North Carolina. Willis Jasper and Obedience had a daughter named Mary Frances born in 1874 and a son, George Henry born in 1868. Mary Frances died at a very young age. George Henry Lawrence was once a pastor of a Baptist church in Breckinridge Co., so was his son T.Lawrence.
