The Monitor does not guarantee the accuracy of original content that now resides off its web site. Harold B. Oldham, TILTON Tuesday, November 19, 2002 TILTON-Harold B. Oldham, 77, died Thursday at New Hampshire Veterans Home. He was born in Detroit, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Oldham. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II where he served as crewmwmber of the LCI-G 68. He attended the LaSalle Institute of Law for three years. He was formerly of Dartmouth Street in Laconia and lived in Laconia since 1950. Oldham worked as a chef at Lakes Region General Hospital, King's Grant Inn, St. Pierre's Restaurant, the Playhouse Inn and Ames Farm. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1670, where he served as commander six times; served as Aide De Camp with the National Commander for three years; and was a member of the Wilkins-Smith American Legion Post NO. 1, where he served as commander twice. Survivors include three sons, Scott Edwards of Laconia, Charles Oldham of Tempe, Ariz., and Arthur Chouinard of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Shelley Chisolm of Laconia; a brother, Ernie Davis of North Branch, Mich.; a sister, Ann Davis of Michigan; and seven grandchildren. His wife, Norma (Della Porta) Oldham, died in 1998. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St. Laconia. Memorial services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Military burial will be held at sea in the Pacific Ocean. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Children's Cancer Society, 1015 Locust, Suite 600, St. Louis, Mo. 63101. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, Laconia, is in charge of the arrangements. Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mr. Oldham.
