I have a William Oldham born 17 July 1753 Prince William Co., Va. died about 1781. Born to Richard Oldham and Judith Basey. I was hoping I had found a spouse for him. John was born October 17, 1708, in St. Stephens Parish, Northumberland Co, VA. He is my husband Gordon Greenwood's 6th great-grandfather. John died ca. March 1765 in Hampshire Co, VA (now W.VA). Can anyone document John's father? I have him as James Oldham, b. August 11, 1669 and m. to Ruth Hill b. March 27, 1666. However, I have also read that this John Oldham's father was Samuel Oldham and would appreciate proof for the correct parent. Col. William H. Oldham's mother, Anne CONWAY (sometimes writted as Nancy or Nannie) was b. ca. 1718 in Northumberland Co, VA, and d. April 1796, in Hampshire Co, VA (now W.VA). I show her parents as Edwin Conway III, b. October 3, 1681, and Anne BALL, b. abt. 1686. I have also read that Anne's parents were Dennis Conway Jr. and Anne FIELDING or ROUTT. I would very much like to solve this mystery with valid sources!
