    2. Hi Tom, This is strange, my mother is from Florence Alabama, and still have a Aunt there. They were Patterson's and Halls. My maternal grandmother and grandfather were from there as well and moved to Hayti MO. Small world after all. I wonder at the changing of the spelling of the name. I was born only 18 miles from Hayti in a town called Kennett. I am sure if you know Hayti you have heard of Kennett. I am in AR now, what part of Ar is your family in? Thanks, Shelia Oldham Wilburn

    2. I am also looking for Oldham-in Alabama . I would suggest pulling up Lauderdale Co. AL. you will find many Oldham's there, i thank this will help you. This will help also look for the Oldham spelling OLEHAM in Colbert Co. AL. This is my g grandfather His name was John D. Oleham 1st wife was Ada Harrison Oleham 2nd Eliza Minor Oleham he John changed the spelling from Oldham to Oleham. His granddaughter in Florence AL. told me this when i talked with her by phone. John D. Oleham had two sons William , the other named Johnnie. My grandmother married Johnnie thay had two children my father James Thomas Oldham,Anna L. Oldham Brown. I do not know how the name was changed for some and not others?. William Oldham had four children William, Elnora, Cinderella, Robert Oldham. There Mothers name was Lula Holloway Oldham, Coats. Williams fam. most live in AR. My grandmothers name Rosa B. Holloway ,Lula and Rosa Sisters. My aunte Anna L was buried at Hayti MO. cemetery I hope this helps Tom

    2. Hello, Emsey Oldham (my grandfather) was born Jan.31, 1880 in TN. he was the son of Samuel J. Oldham was b. 1836 in TN. married a Martha Crow. Moses Oldham married Milly M. They were from Montgomery Co. TN. Moses died before 1860 due to census records, he was on the 1850 census. He was Samuel's father and mother. Moses's father Jesse Oldham Jr. mother was Maria Duncan, b.1777 in Caswell Co. North Carolina, D. 1845, Estill Springs, Franklin Co. TN. Jesse Oldham Sr. b.1733 Prince William Co. VA. d.1814 Boonsborough, Madison Co. Ky. If anyone is interested in these names I have all the siblings, and I do go back further but have not verified that info as yet. This has all been verified. As soon as I get verification on the other names dating back to 1577 I will post them on the site. Shelia Oldham Wilburn

I don't know either, but there were several brothers that were in Early Va to the Carolina and then Ky, and Tenn, while my Elias b. 1775(supposely so of James d.1830-1832) can't remember stayed in South Carolina, then to Ala., then Yazoo Co Ms. in 1830 then to Carroll Co.
