WIndle's Fort was not mentioned in the Book, Frontier Forts along the Potomac & its Tributaries, nor was it listed in the book "Indian Warfare & Massacres on the VA Frontier by Dale Payne. The book, "Pioneers of Old Frederick Co, VA by Cecil O'Dell lists several land tracks for the WIndles in Frederick CO. Do you know which Windle owned the land or who it was transferred to?
