In researching the Markers, I have always found them in Frederick County, Va, before they went to Hampshire (Mineral) Co., WV. Some searchers have John Marker dieing in Stevensburg, VA, which is in Culpepper County. His son said he died at North Mountain. North Mountain is in Berkeley Co., WV, and I assume it runs down into Frederick County. You mention Reuben Marker (p11-Historical Records...) and Mary Ann Marker (a great aunt)marrying Hiram Alkire (p71). Don't you believe someone listed Stevensburg when they perhaps meant Stevens City? Also, didn't most migrate west and not north? Maybe you even have something on the Marker's that I don't have.
