My WILLIAMS family originated in VA, possibly but not positively in Frederick Co., and moved down the Valley into east Tennessee and Kentucky. Edward Williams, born 1755/60, died 1833 in Campbell Co., TN. Does anyone in the family know where Edward was born? In VA probably? Alexander T. Williams, born 1797/1800 in VA, farm hand living in Campbell Co., TN in 1860, married Agnes ---, born 1801/02 in TN. Does anyone know Agnes' maiden name? Children of Alexander and Agnes: Granville B., born about 1829/32 in TN, married 11/30/1865 Samantha Jane Evans, Campbell Co., TN. Alsa G. (female), born about 1836 in TN. Emily C.,born about 1835. Adherbal, born about 1840 married Martha Nicholson. Calvin P., born about 1844, married (1)China Fultner (Faulkner) Nicholson about 1865 and (2)Julia Williams, married 3/3/1878 in Campbell Co., TN. Calvin died 1883/86 in Whitley Co., KY. Adam S., no info. Ferrill, no info. Julian, no info. Lucinda, born about 1849, died 12/17/1854, Campbell Co., TN. Margaret, no info. Martha J., no info. Mary, no info. Calvin P., born about 1844 Campbell Co., TN, died August 1883/6 in Whitley Co., KY. By 1880 listed as disabled in Civil War where he served as a private in Company B, 1st Regiment in the TN Union infantry, resided in both KY and TN, was a tenant laborer, belonged to the Baptist church. Parents were Alexander and Agnes. Calvin married China Fultner(Faulkner) Nicholson who died 9/20/1877 at Jellico in Campbell Co., TN at about 26 years of age. Calvin and China's children were (I'm sure this is not in order): 1 - James Lewis, also called "High Pockets", born 6/22/1868 or 6/23/1867 in Whitley Co., KY, died 9/13/1940 at Rt. 1, Gore, Hocking Co., Ohio, aged 73 years, 2 mo., 20 days, cause of death was prostate cancer, buried Dawley Cemetery in Hocking Co., Ohio. Married Mary Emmaline Ridenour (or Emmaline Mary). She's also buried at Dawley Cemetery, I remember that she died in the 1950s and was a little lady with a long dress and a bonnet. All their children moved to Ohio, except for John who I think moved back to TN. James and Emma were my great-grandparents. 2 - Betty, born in TN. 3 - Willie or Bill, born in KY. 4 - Morrison M. (male?), born 10/26/1877 in TN. With second marriage to Julia Williams (I believe I heard she was related in some way, maybe a second cousin), had a son Thomas, born 2/13/1879 in Campbell Co., TN. I have more details concerning Calvin's military service, family life afterwards, and affadavits taken for application for pension for Julia. Some of the names mentioned are Thomas and Delpha Smith, T. C. and Cynthia Mahan, Polly Smith, and P. W. Faulkner who was related to China.
