    1. Re: Re: BYRNE
    2. Hi Everett Do you have a copy of Cecil O'Dells book about the early families of Old Frederick Co.? I'm sure you probably do. In a message dated 6/24/99 5:48:44 PM, you wrote: >Possibly Jean McCormick married James Burns. She married James BYRNE. but that surname has also been spelled BYRN, BURN, etc. >Could you give me the names of Dr. John McCormicks children? His children were: James; Francis; John, Jr.; William; George; Andrew; Mary, who married first John Riley, second, Magnus Tate; and Jean who married James Byrn/Byrne. The above names are taken from Dr. McCormick's will. >Do you have a copy of Dr. John McCormicks will? Yes, I do. You can get a photocopy from the Frederick Co. Courthouse at Winchester, VA. Will Book #3, p. 464. They are very helpfull, and the cost is minimal. >Or could you tell me if he had a daughter named Ann (Nancy is a nickname for Ann) . Francis, son of Dr. John, DID have a daughter named Ann. At the time of her death on 17 May 1785, Frances, wife of Francis McCormick, requested that James and his wife raise their daughter Ann. Does this fit chronologically with your data? The above data is found in O'Dell's book. >Would be happy to share any info I have. After selling the White House, Andrew McCormick (son of Dr. John) removed to Davidson Co. TN. Several of his children, plus some members of the Byrne, Tate and Venable families resettled there also. Andrew McCormick, son of Dr. John, died in TN in 1820. Charles Byrn was the co-executor of Andrew's estate. Charles was Andrew's nephew, and may have been the son of James and Jean McCormick Byrn. I am searching for the maiden name of Andrew McCormick's wife. Her given name was Ann. My thinking is that she may have been a sister of James Byrne. I know that James Byrne was the son of James, Sr., but did he have a sister named Ann? Hope this helps, Ann
