Would like to correspond with others researching HEMPSTEAD. A Margaret Nelson wed a Hal(l)um Hempstead. I know her to be the dau. of a James Nelson and Susan Keiter of Frederick Co., VA - Hampshire Co., (W)VA. In 1888, bro Warner W. Nelson wrote in his will that his sister Margaret Hempstead should be cared for as long as she remained there, etc... The will was probated in 1890 in Hampshire Co., WV Have been unsucccessful in finding the Hempstead name in Hampshire Co.. I believe WW Nelson owned property in what would be considered Frederick Co., VA - so maybe I've looked in the wrong places! TIA, Karen Nelson Hangsleben
