    1. [OLD-FREDERICK-CO-VA] Re: Robinson, Middlesex Co., VA 1700s
    2. Christopher Robinson
    3. Ozzie, Sorry, it appears your John Robinson is abt. one generation before my current info. I believe I am connected to John Thomas Robinson, b. abt 1780, the father of my ggg-father, Richard J. Robinson, b. abt. 1812. Richards siblings appear to be as listed: Beverly W., Arthur, Samuel, William, Joseph Lewis, John and would have been born abt. early 1800s. I guess John Thomas' father was also a John Robinson born abt. 1738, married a Miss Page, then Miss Lucy Smith (m. 1757). This John would be abt. 10 years off from your John, also with a different wife. I guess your John could be a brother or cousin to William Robinson, b. 1709, Middlesex Co., VA. Unfortunately, I have not acquired the book, This Robinson Line, that I referenced to you. This was provided by another lister and I have not been able to locate it yet. It relates the relations of Christopher Robinson of "Hewick", in the area of Middlesex Co, VA. so if your Robinson line is found here there may be a relation. Beverly W. is not dirrectly in my line, being a sibling to Richard J., my ggg-father. I just assumed this was a sister, but perhaps it is a brother. Would appreciate any info you have on this individual or others listed in your book. Beverly, Richard and siblings and father John Thomas are found in Hampshire Co., VA 1840 census. Households of Richard J. (misprint Robert J.) and Joseph Lewis (w/ father John Thomas) are found in 1850 census for Harrison Co., VA. Not sure if Beverly also migrated with them or remained in Hampshire? Don't know if I sent you the following before from 1850 Harrison Co. ceunsus: 21st district, enumerated 29 July 1850 Ancestry Image 272 Roll M432_950, Page 135 Robert J. Ohio (bordering Guernsey Co., OH) abt. 1854. Joseph L. also reported in one history source to have moved here, but not sure of date. He may have stayed in Harrison Co., VA for a while as his wife passed away in Harrison in 1864 and there one son appears to have stayed in this area: John Lewis, son of John Thomas Robinson, was born in Frederick county, Virginia, 1827. He came to Harrison county in 1849. He was a shoemaker and merchant, sometime associated with E. W. Tinsman as Tinsman & Robinson, and for many years conducted the principal shoe store in Clarksburg. He married Mary E. Waters, born February 25, 1829, in Montgomery county, Maryland. One child by this union, Paul Monroe; the mother died May 12, 1864. Of the parentage of Mary E. (Waters) Robinson it may be said that she was the daughter of Edward B. and Lucretia (Gardner) Waters. The Waters family is numerous and has been of some prominence in Ferderick and Montgomery counties, Maryland, since the formation of the counties. The parents of Mary E. Waters both died when she was a child and she was reared by her uncle, James Waters, of Frederick county, Maryland.
