I have been unable to connect him to any family from the area. The only clue I have to William's origins is that his land grant identifies him as being from Frederick County. William was married to a Martha ?, had sons James, robert, William, John and Hugh; daughters Hannah, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Sally and Jean. The land grant was near Shepherdstown (present day Berkeley county, WV) and bordered on the land of Isreal Friend. I can trace William & family from 1754 in VA through Bourbon County, KY to Shelby County, IL. William had dealings with Swearingen and Morgan family members in both VA and KY. The family was associated with the Presbyterian Church by the late 1780's as at least 2 of the Wright children were married in services performed by Mose Hoge. If you have information about this Wright family I would appreciate hearing from you. Michael E.
