One and all-- Recently I scanned the unclaimed Civil War Medal Listings through the internet and was led to believe that one of my Hentzel ancestors had an unclaimed Civil War Medal. In the interest of discovering if I could claim such a medal I sent for verification of records and the medal claim request. Low and behold! Transcription or whatever has again taken its toll. The medal in question belongs to one John Kintzel, not John Hentzel. I have the records and application for claiming this prized civil war medal if anyone is researching the John Kintzel line.
