I'm new to the list and new to researh in this 'part of the world'. I've just discovered that my Ohio Jenkins came from Va, and am interested in finding more about them, and where they lived. Michael and wife Rachel Pugh JENKINS emigrated to the Concord Meeting in Colerain, Belmont Co, Ohio in around 1802, along with their chilren Ann, Jacob, Lydia, Betty, Jane, Caty (my ancestor), Pugh and John. Michael had married Rachel1787, 4, 11 . at Back Creek - she was the dt of Thomas and Ann, Frederick Co, Va and born in. 16-2-1770. This information was found in the Hopewell MM records. Michael was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Rogers Jenkins, who lived in the Back Creek area....Elizabeth was the daughter of John and Ellen Pugh Rogers. Apparently many were members of the Hopewell Meeting, and I'm curious about the meeting house, near Winchester. I know the meeting is still in existence, but wonder about the building, and if it is original to the 1700s (although I imagine those members who lived far away, in what is now Hampshire Co, WV, surely didn't attend meeting there, but in some home in the immediate area. I'm looking forward to hearing lots about the families, and the area.... Sandra
