I am interested in finding information on Edward Thomas who is found in Old Frederick County, Virginia in land records from 1749 until 1766. He is absolutely involved with a man named John Smith. Both men seem to be living on or close to Opequon Creek. John Smith is definitely recognized as being of the Quaker faith. In Edward's last land record in 1766 he and his wife, Sarah, are said to "be of Newberry County, SC". Does anyone know more about this man and his family? I suspect that he is the same Edward Thomas for whom I find land records in Newberry, SC....living near Isaac and Nehemiah Thomas....and I suspect that he is either the same Edward Thomas or the father of the Edward Thomas who is named in Nehemiah Thomas's will in Newberry SC when he leaves a bequest to his nephew, Edward Thomas son of Edward Thomas of NC.
