Looking for old maps of the Winchester VA area. The particular area that I am looking for is on the north side of Red Bud Creek and was owned by my g-g-g-g-grandfather, Adam Albert. It is described in the following Deed Books of Frederick County. Book #20, page #461: Indenture dated June 7, 1785 between Adam Albert and Elizabeth and Adam Kiger. Adam received from Kiger nine pounds for a portion of Lot 2 "--- afront on the east side of Potowmack Road, from the west corner of --- Adam Albert's stone house to the corner of Lot 3 of twenty-eight feet seven inches --" Book #25, Page #128: ... Adam is still living on the land in question; there is a house and a smith's shop on it; it is situated on the north side of Red Bud Creek, near or adjoining Thomas Lewis's Mill Tract. Book #25, Page #639: ... Beginning at a red oak on the north side of Red Bud Creek south and west 45 degrees to the creek, continuing to a young red oak on the ridge in the original line, then leaving the line to a young black oak near the house, along the mill road to a young walnut, down the mill road to an elm on the bank of the mill run, to a stake on another original line, then to a walnut then the same line south to a walnut stump to the beginning.
