Quaker membership was often held in the nearest meeting to where the people were living. In the case of some of the pioneers, that could be pretty far away. When the first Quakers went to the Miami Valley of Ohio (south west part of the state) their membership was at Redstone, Pa. Some researchers have assumed the people also had gone to Redstone.... which is not the case. This particular bunch came from S.C. to Ohio, but their names in Pa. were only a formality. Before long, they set up meetings in their area, and then transferred (not moved).
