The Virginia Historical Magazine, Vol. 10, Page 46, in an article entitled The Germans of the Valley, speaks of a meeting at Woodstock on June 16, 1774. Among other things, a Committee of Safety and Correspondence was appointed for the County. The committee consisted of Rev. Peter Muhlenberg, Chmn, Francis Slaughetr, Abraham Bird, Tavener Beale ( father of the undersigned ), John Tipton and Abraham Bowman. Does anyone know the name of the Beale who was a signer ? Can anyone tell me more about this Tavener Beale who was a Colonel in the VA militia and who was married to Elizabeth Hite. Thanks in advance Don Rielly
